The Institute of Psychology within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences is looking to fill the role of a
Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and is ideally suited for a longer duration.
As a new member of our team, you will support the Department of Biological Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience (BPCN) and play a crucial role in advancing our research and educational initiatives. Our department primarily investigates perception and memory processes, exploring both fundamental neuronal mechanisms of visual and auditory perception and specific perceptual phenomena, such as facial recognition. To achieve this, we regularly collect new data through TMS, EEG, fMRI, eye-tracking, and behavioral experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, coordinate, manage, and disseminate research projects in the field of cognitive neuroscience. Publish research findings in international peer-reviewed journals. Develop an independent qualification project (habilitation or equivalent). Present contributions at international conferences. Plan and conduct courses independently, amounting to 4 course hours. Supervise BSc and MSc theses. Assist the professorship with administrative tasks, including teaching, exam planning, and conference organization.Candidate Profile:
A university degree with a focus on psychology or cognitive neuroscience. An outstanding Ph.D. in psychology or cognitive neuroscience, with experience in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments using the aforementioned methods with human subjects. Proficiency in programming (Python; Matlab) and knowledge of machine learning techniques is advantageous. Excellent command of written and spoken English (knowledge of German is a plus but not mandatory). Strong academic record, including publications. Experience in teaching undergraduate students is beneficial. Strong organizational skills.We Offer:
