Abbott GmbH in Wiesbaden is seeking a Director of Communications - DACH Region. The ideal candidate will:

  • Lead the Public Affairs function across the DACH region, driving impactful results that align with Abbott's business objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans, initiatives, and compelling narratives designed to raise awareness and shape public perception of Abbott among key stakeholders in the DACH region.
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including leadership, marketing, regulatory affairs, and government relations, to achieve our shared goals.
  • Establish effective digital strategies to engage target audiences and generate increased online awareness and engagement.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Proactive Storytelling: Drive greater external recognition for Abbott through proactive storytelling and measurable, insight-driven local initiatives.
  • Media & External Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with editors, media professionals, and other influential external parties to help build and protect the company's reputation in the DACH region. Act as a company spokesperson and formulate appropriate messaging to support Abbott's brands and business objectives.
  • Issues Management: Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage issues and navigate challenging situations.
  • Employee Engagement: Partner with key stakeholders to lead enterprise-wide employee communications across the DACH region.
  • Drive Business Growth: Develop and implement communication strategies that contribute to Abbott's overall business success in the DACH market.
