Abbott GmbH is seeking a Head of Communications for the DACH Region (m/f/d) . The successful candidate will:
- Lead the Public Affairs function in the DACH region, driving impactful results aligned with Abbott's business objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to enhance awareness and shape perceptions of Abbott among key external stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders, including leadership, marketing, regulatory, and government affairs.
- Establish effective digital strategies to engage target audiences and increase online awareness.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Proactive storytelling: Enhance external awareness of Abbott through proactive storytelling and measurable local initiatives.
- Media & external relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with media and key influencers to protect and enhance the company's reputation. Serve as a company spokesperson and develop messaging to support Abbott's brands.
- Issues management: Effectively manage issues as they arise.
- Engage employees: Collaborate with stakeholders to lead enterprise-wide employee communications in the DACH region.
- Drive the business: Deliver communications that strengthen Abbott's competitive position and market share.
- Agency management: Oversee team, budget, and account management, ensuring vendors deliver value.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least 12 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations.
- Experience in multinational settings, preferably within Healthcare, Tech, FMCG, or Pharma sectors.
- Understanding of DACH market dynamics and U.S. business practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in German and English is required.
- Proven track record in PR campaign development, stakeholder relations, and crisis management.
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
