Quantum Control Algorithm Developer for Electrochemical NMR

Forschungszentrum Jülich is seeking a highly motivated individual to contribute to our groundbreaking research in electrochemical energy storage and conversion using pulsed NMR.
We are developing innovative techniques to leverage quantum optimal control algorithms for designing tailored magnetic pulses. These pulses will enhance the capabilities of NMR spectroscopy, enabling us to probe the intricate dynamics of battery interfaces and membranes with unprecedented precision.
Your role will be instrumental in advancing this cutting-edge research by:
- Developing and Implementing Quantum Control Algorithms: Integrate state-of-the-art quantum control algorithms into our Python library, JuMPO (Jülich Magnetic Pulse Optimization). This open-source platform is designed for NMR spectroscopists and will benefit from your contributions.
- Experimental Validation and Performance Assessment: Collaborate with experimental NMR scientists to validate the effectiveness of the optimized pulses generated by your algorithms. Analyze and assess the performance of these pulse sequences, contributing to the refinement of our control strategies.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage in a dynamic and collaborative environment with experts in chemistry, physics, computer science, and electrochemistry. Your contributions will bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and experimental applications.
Your Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fundamental understanding of NMR spectroscopy principles.
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Knowledge of electrochemistry fundamentals and spin dynamics is highly advantageous.
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and proven ability to work effectively in teams.
- Demonstrated capacity for independent work, organization, and proactive problem-solving.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
