We are enhancing our capabilities with a Category Analyst (m/f/d)
This role involves conducting thorough analysis of category, brand, and customer data across various segments, and crafting persuasive trade narratives in collaboration with the Category Development Manager.
In this position, you will bring our category data to life by delivering market insights, pinpointing opportunities, and formulating suitable initiatives. Working alongside the Category Development Manager, you will advise the Sales & Marketing teams to create robust category narratives, facilitate listings, and optimize distribution in both Retail and Out of Home channels for our brands – including Biscuits, Spreads & Ice Cream with Lotus Biscoff, as well as Healthy Snacking with our Natural Foods brands.
- Conduct analysis of category and core range performance by leveraging available market and macro-environment data/insights: retail panel data (IRI/Circana, Nielsen), household/shopper panel data (Gfk), customer insights, and tailored consumer/shopper research from Lotus Bakeries.
- Monitor and assess Lotus performance against competitors, deriving actionable insights to inform internal strategies (Volume/Value/ROS/WD/promotional effectiveness, etc.).
- Identify current and emerging category segment dynamics and trends that may impact Lotus Biscoff and our Natural Foods brands, quantifying potential effects on our categories, customers, and brands.
- Ensure a leading-edge approach to data analytics by continuously exploring and implementing the latest techniques in collaboration with the Category Development Manager.
- Develop and present compelling category narratives to our retail partners to enhance the presence of our Lotus and Natural Foods brands in terms of category, segment, assortment, shelf placement, and promotions.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key trade partners in Germany to reinforce our position as a preferred supplier, providing valuable category insights and recommendations on shelf structure, assortment, new listings, and promotional support.
- Share analytical insights with relevant internal stakeholders to aid in shaping the Commercial (Account) Plan alongside the Sales team.
Professional requirements:
- A university degree (Masters/Bachelor) in economics, marketing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the German trade landscape.
- Demonstrated experience in transforming large volumes of raw data into actionable insights with proven commercial outcomes, particularly with retail/household/shopper data (IRI/Circana, Nielsen, GfK).
- Exceptional numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong conceptual skills to translate insights into persuasive trade and category narratives.
- Proficiency in German (full professional proficiency) and a solid understanding of English (written and spoken).
