Job Description

Category Insights Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Insights Specialist to join our team at Lotus Bakeries. As a Category Insights Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing market and macro-environment data to inform category management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze category/core range performance using market and macro-environment data, including retail panel data and customer insights.
  • Track and evaluate Lotus performance vs competitors, identifying key learnings to inform internal plans.
  • Identify current and future category segment dynamics and trends, and quantify potential impacts on our categories, customers, and brands.
  • Develop and maintain a best-in-class approach to data analytics, working closely with the Category Development Manager.
  • Create and present compelling category stories to retailers to drive in-store presence for our Lotus and Natural Foods brands.
  • Establish and build long-term relationships with German trade partners to strengthen our role as a preferred supplier.
  • Share analytical insights with internal stakeholders to inform the Commercial (Account) Plan.

Requirements:

  • University degree in economics, marketing, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in category management or data analysis for food/FMCG brands.
  • Knowledge of the German trade landscape.
  • Proven experience in converting raw data into actionable insights with commercial benefits.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in German and strong understanding of English.
