Lead Category Strategist

At Picnic, we are transforming the grocery shopping experience with our innovative and eco-friendly approach. As we expand our operations, we are seeking Category Strategists to join our team and maximize Picnic's potential in the market.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and enhance various product categories, including fresh items such as dairy and meat, as well as ambient goods.

As a Lead Category Strategist, you will be instrumental in defining and refining our product assortment. Your expertise and enthusiasm for food, coupled with a strong customer-centric approach, will guide the creation of a balanced product range. Your responsibilities will include:
- Employing a data-driven methodology to uncover opportunities within your category
- Making informed decisions regarding pricing, promotions, and product availability
- Collaborating with supply chain, customer service, and marketing teams to ensure optimal category performance
- Developing and implementing a practical strategy to unlock the full potential of your category
- Partnering with the category team to deliver the best offerings to our customers
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in a field related to analytics, business, or retail
- 5+ years of experience in category management and purchasing within the grocery or food sector (experience in fresh food is advantageous)
- Proficient in both German and English
- Strong analytical skills: the ability to interpret and utilize KPIs and data effectively
- Commercial insight: understanding customer preferences and negotiating favorable agreements
