Senior Payroll Coordinator

As our organization expands, we are in search of a local payroll leader who possesses a comprehensive understanding of payroll operations. Ideally, this individual will have experience in both in-house and outsourced payroll systems to ensure a top-tier experience for all employees.
This position is a full-time role for an 18-month duration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 1-3 Payroll Specialists, embodying the Wolt values of heart and humility, while providing guidance and support for decision-making.
- Exhibit advanced skills in managing intricate international payrolls, including the collection, validation, and execution of payroll-related data activities across multiple countries.
- Work closely with the Head of Payroll Operations to enhance our service delivery model, ensuring we maintain adequate capacity and capability for all payroll processes while minimizing risks associated with potential failures.
- Deliver an exceptional payroll experience for employees, addressing any complex issues that arise through thorough root cause analysis and corrective measures.
- Compile and analyze key Payroll, HR, and Finance data to establish global payroll key performance indicators and service level agreement metrics to assess process efficiency.
- Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to streamline and automate payroll processes, collaborating with the Payroll Operational Excellence team to create a modern, scalable payroll framework.
- Develop and implement payroll policies, practices, and a robust controls framework to ensure compliance with local regulations and fulfill payroll and tax obligations.
- Ensure payroll data integrity across integrated HR and payroll systems, swiftly identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including our outsourced payroll vendor, to guarantee accurate and timely payroll for our global teams.
- Assist with audit-related tasks as required.
- Opportunity to engage in a Payroll Partnering role with key cross-functional stakeholders.
- Take charge of your personal development plan and collaborate with your Team Lead to achieve your professional goals.
- Provide backup support to team members in delivering payroll services as needed.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Team Lead.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of core payroll management and processes.
- Experience in payroll leadership on both vendor and client sides is a significant advantage.
- Passion for payroll and payroll-related technology and processes.
- Hands-on experience in payroll process design is a notable advantage.
- Prior experience with global payroll systems and Workday (or similar enterprise HR systems) is highly regarded.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a sense of ownership.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, comfortable with remote collaboration using digital tools such as Slack and Zoom.
- Excellent communication skills, with high proficiency in English and German.
