About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Manager to join our dynamic Project Team in the field of offshore wind energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing offshore procurement strategies and negotiating high-volume transport and installation contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute offshore procurement strategies within dedicated bidding and/or development projects aligned with the company's objectives and respective category strategies.
  • Take the lead in procurement activities, including RFI/ RFP/ RFQ/ ITT processes, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment and compliance with project timelines, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide transparency about the project's procurement process, history, and developments, and align or escalate with the respective Category Manager as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes, vendor relationships, and cost-saving strategies.
  • Report observations of upcoming market trends, technological advancements, and industry developments to the Category Manager to allow adaptation and optimization of generic and/or project-specific procurement strategies.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Legal studies, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic procurement, with at least 3 years focused on wind energy projects or vessel chartering in Onshore/Offshore wind or for project cargo.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement activities, negotiating contracts, and building strong supplier relationships.
  • Wide background of industry knowledge, good understanding of current market conditions, and ability to understand complex interdependencies.
  • Proficient in BIMCO Supplytime and FIDIC Yellow Book contracts, with knowledge of other BIMCO contracts and the IMCA marine construction contract advantageous.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with proficiency in data-driven decision-making and ability to drive cost-effective solutions.
  • Fluency in German and English, with willingness to travel.
