Senior Manager (m/f/d) Strategic Transport Procurement

Hapag-Lloyd stands as a prominent entity in the global liner shipping industry, operating a modern fleet of container vessels with a transport capacity of 11.9 million TEU. The company employs approximately 13,000 individuals and maintains a presence in numerous countries. With a substantial container capacity, including one of the largest fleets of reefer containers, Hapag-Lloyd offers extensive liner services that ensure efficient and reliable connections across a vast network of ports worldwide. In addition, the company has interests in 20 terminals across Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa, supported by around 2,000 employees dedicated to terminal operations and complementary logistics services.
Key Responsibilities:
Optimize global procurement strategies for transport services, aligning with Hapag-Lloyd's overarching goals while maintaining high standards for cost, quality, and availability. Lead the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of procurement initiatives in collaboration with regional procurement teams and local specialists. Provide expert guidance and functional leadership to procurement teams globally, ensuring alignment and excellence in collaboration with global category managers. Deliver advanced methodological and operational support to regional teams, focusing on cost-saving initiatives and tender processes to enhance efficiency. Monitor and control global procurement KPIs, offering vital support to regions during their annual budgeting processes. Facilitate effective communication with senior management and all relevant stakeholders.Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement, showcasing a strong history of global optimization and cost management. Proficiency in implementing diverse negotiation strategies, including eAuctions. Strong project management capabilities, with experience in global team collaboration, timeline management, and stakeholder engagement. Willingness to assume supervisory responsibilities within the team framework. High level of engagement and the ability to work independently with a target-oriented approach. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Business fluency in English. Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with COUPA is a plus. Experience in multinational and multicultural environments is desirable. Availability for global travel, including short-notice trips.Benefits:
