Director of Financial Operations

TenneT is rapidly expanding to achieve its strategic goals, playing a pivotal role in the energy transition. We are seeking a dedicated Director of Financial Operations (m/f/d) to join our Finance & Control unit at our headquarters.

Your Role at TenneT

  • As the Director of Financial Operations, you will strategically and operationally lead the Financial Services department, which includes teams focused on General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Levies.
  • You will develop, manage, and track operational KPIs to maintain high standards of service and achieve performance objectives.
  • Your responsibilities will include assessing and enhancing work processes through LEAN management, automation, and digital transformation.
  • You will oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, supporting internal and external reporting as well as financial analysis in a capital market context.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial reporting standards, you will maintain internal controls and manage risk for all financial processes.
  • Collaboration with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders will be key to ensuring alignment and a customer-centric approach.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for the development, mentoring, and performance evaluation of your team members.

Your Qualifications

  • A University Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Management, or a related field is required.
  • You should possess substantial experience in international agreements and political dynamics, ideally within the energy or critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong advisory and coaching skills are essential, along with the ability to operate at all levels, from operational to strategic.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex projects and processes, as well as teams in dynamic environments, is crucial.
  • You must be proactive in challenging existing systems and enhancing efficiency through lean methodologies.
  • We seek an authentic and collaborative team player with excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail, proficient in both English and German.
