We are seeking a dedicated Director of Financial Operations (m/f/d) within the integrated unit of Finance & Control at our headquarters who will play a key role in the ongoing success of TenneT.

Your Role at TenneT

  • As the Director of Financial Operations (m/f/d), you will strategically and operationally engage in a customer-centric manner across various environments, leading the Financial Operations department which includes teams responsible for General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Levies.
  • You will develop, manage, and track operational KPIs to guarantee consistent service excellence and achievement of performance objectives.
  • Your role will involve continuously assessing and enhancing work processes and workflows, implementing identified process improvements through LEAN management, automation, and digital transformation.
  • Additionally, you will oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures, supporting relevant internal and external reporting and financial analysis in a capital market context.
  • You will maintain internal controls, ensure adherence to regulatory and financial reporting standards, and protect risk management for all financial processes under your purview.
  • Your role will require you to collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and a customer-focused approach for a Best-in-Class Finance experience.
  • Finally, you will be responsible for the development, mentoring, and performance evaluations of your team members.

Your Qualifications

  • A University Degree (Uni/FH) in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Management, or a related field is required.
  • You should possess substantial experience in international agreements, dynamics, and politics, ideally within the energy or critical infrastructure sectors, and have been part of a senior management team for several years.
  • Strong advisory and coaching abilities are essential, along with the capacity to operate at all levels of interaction, from operational to strategic, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing complex projects and processes, as well as teams in intricate and dynamic settings, are crucial, along with the ability to integrate a wide range of stakeholders and provide suitable reporting for top management.
  • You should be proactive in challenging existing processes and systems, applying lean methodologies to boost efficiency and productivity, while maintaining a strong sense of responsibility and goal-oriented mindset.
  • This position requires an authentic and collaborative team player with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail; proficiency in English and German is necessary, both written and spoken.
