Director of Global Speaker Cost Optimization

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our global speaker cost optimization efforts. As Director of Global Speaker Cost Optimization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to reduce costs and improve profitability across our speaker product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a global cost optimization strategy for speakers, including projects and products, from design to manufacturing.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, ensuring alignment with R&D, manufacturing, and technology roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with engineering groups and other teams to drive value to customers through feature and cost reductions, identifying the lowest cost solutions that meet product requirements.
  • Establish and execute a 2-year rolling VAVE pipeline with SBU leads, ensuring continuous cost improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain common work practices, procedures, and design standards with engineering and manufacturing teams to achieve cost excellence.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in world-class best practices for material and manufacturing costs.
  • Set objectives, measure performance, conduct appraisals, and develop team members through coaching and counseling.
  • Foresee technology opportunities beyond specific divisional or platform spaces, developing a point of view on standards in the speaker area.
  • Support the speaker product line lead in delivering cost-effective speakers and driving profitability improvement.
  • Hire, coach, and develop high-performing talent, ensuring the success of each team member.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating staff while driving improvement through innovative solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in product development engineering, mechanical parts, and speaker industry preferred.
  • Engineering/program management leadership experience in leading and coaching large multi-site teams.
  • Global product development experience.
  • Proven consistent success in delivering cost-effective products.
  • Proven experience collaborating with design engineering, manufacturing, finance, sourcing, and product management members, coordinating activities among team members with direct or indirect reporting structures.
  • Proven key leadership traits and skills: collaborative work style, integrity, creativity, objectivity, assertiveness, effectiveness, responsibility, honesty, reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in engineering, business, or management/leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
