Role Overview

As the Director of Value Management for Speakers, you will be responsible for the global optimization of speaker costs. You will spearhead cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies aimed at reducing the total cost of speaker production. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of projects and products, from initial request for quotation (RFQ) through to post-start of production (SOP), including cost of poor quality (COPQ) and sustainability initiatives.

Your Leadership Team

You will lead a global team comprising 8-10 direct reports, including transducer engineers, adhesive specialists, mechanical engineers, and business analysts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic direction and roadmap for the global Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) group for speakers, ensuring alignment with research and development activities and manufacturing strategies.
  • Oversee all aspects of speaker VAVE responsibilities globally, managing projects and products through their entire lifecycle while ensuring design meets benchmark costs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver customer value through innovative features and cost reductions, identifying the most efficient methods to achieve product and process objectives.
  • Establish and execute a rolling two-year VAVE pipeline in collaboration with strategic business unit leads.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized work practices, procedures, and design standards with engineering and manufacturing teams to achieve cost excellence.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in best practices related to material and manufacturing costs.
  • Set performance objectives, conduct evaluations, and mentor team members through coaching and guidance.
  • Anticipate technology opportunities at a holistic level, developing insights and standards in your area of expertise.
  • Support product line leaders in delivering cost-effective speaker solutions while driving profitability improvements.
  • Recruit, mentor, and cultivate high-performing talent to ensure the success of each team member.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment that motivates staff and encourages innovative solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Over 15 years of experience in product development engineering, preferably in the speaker industry.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and coaching large, multi-site teams.
  • Experience in global product development.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering cost-effective products.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with design engineering, manufacturing, finance, sourcing, and product management teams.
  • Strong leadership qualities: collaborative, creative, objective, assertive, responsible, and reliable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, business, or management/leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
