Role Overview
In the capacity of Director of Value Management for Speakers, you will be responsible for global cost optimization of speaker products. You will spearhead cross-functional teams to devise and implement strategies aimed at reducing overall speaker costs throughout their lifecycle, from initial request for quotation (RFQ) to post-start of production (SOP), including cost of poor quality (COPQ) and sustainability initiatives.
Your Leadership Team
You will lead a global team comprising 8-10 direct reports, including transducer engineers, adhesive specialists, mechanical engineers, and business analysts.
Key Responsibilities
Establish the strategic vision and roadmap for the global speaker Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) group, ensuring alignment with R&D initiatives and manufacturing requirements. Oversee all aspects of speaker VAVE responsibilities, including project management and product lifecycle, ensuring designs meet benchmark cost standards. Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver customer value through innovative features and cost efficiencies. Identify optimal cost strategies while maximizing product functionality. Develop and execute a rolling two-year VAVE pipeline in collaboration with strategic business unit (SBU) leaders. Contribute to the formulation of standardized practices, procedures, and design benchmarks in partnership with engineering and manufacturing teams to achieve cost excellence. Stay informed on industry best practices regarding material and manufacturing costs. Set performance objectives, conduct evaluations, and foster team development through mentoring and guidance. Anticipate technological advancements beyond specific divisions, cultivating a comprehensive perspective on industry standards and insights. Support product line leaders in delivering cost-effective speaker solutions while driving profitability enhancements. Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing talent, ensuring the success of each team member. Promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that inspires staff while pursuing innovative improvements.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Over 15 years of experience in product development engineering, preferably within the speaker industry. Proven leadership experience in managing and coaching large, multi-site teams. Global product development expertise. Demonstrated success in delivering cost-effective products. Strong collaborative skills with experience working across design engineering, manufacturing, finance, sourcing, and product management. Essential leadership qualities: collaborative approach, integrity, creativity, objectivity, assertiveness, effectiveness, responsibility, honesty, and reliability.Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in engineering, business, or management preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Eligibility Requirements
