Postdoctoral Researcher in Medical Science and Biology

The Institute of Anatomy at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel is seeking applications for a Research Assistant (Postdoctoral position in Cardiovascular-Renal Research). This role is designed for candidates who are passionate about advancing their research careers in a vibrant academic environment.
Research FocusThe successful candidate will engage in groundbreaking research aimed at understanding the epigenetic mechanisms that contribute to the progression of diabetes-related organ failure and renal glomerular diseases, including hypertension and edema formation.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate the epigenetic regulation associated with diabetic nephropathy.
- Explore the mechanisms of volume regulation in diseases characterized by edema, such as nephrotic syndrome and chronic heart failure.
The Institute provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative atmosphere, fostering interactions with leading experts in the field. The research group is engaged in a network of collaborations both nationally and internationally.
Candidate ProfileWe invite applications from individuals holding an MD or PhD in Medicine, Medical Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, or a related discipline. Candidates should possess:
- Experience with biochemical and molecular biology techniques.
- A solid understanding of mammalian cell culture and animal experimentation.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, along with strong communication skills.
