Customs Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Specialist to join our team at DIS AG. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless customs clearance and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Secure customs clearance for inbound and outbound goods, ensuring timely material provision to production
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders on customs-related matters
- Develop and implement customs training programs to enhance knowledge and skills across the organization
- Collaborate with suppliers to define requirements and negotiate customs-related agreements
- Design and implement systems and processes to optimize customs and import duties, minimizing risks associated with customs matters
- Build strong relationships with customs authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and efficient customs clearance
- Create accurate customs declarations for imports and exports, managing customs clearance and ensuring compliance
- Support logistics outbound activities, including dispatch and transport, to ensure seamless customs clearance
- Ensure a robust and compliant inbound and outbound customs process, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Logistics-related degree or apprenticeship, with a minimum of 5 years of customs experience
- Strong operational and technical skills in customs, with a deep understanding of customs laws and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on customs compliance
- Proven experience in drafting electronic transport declarations and customs declarations, including experience with preferential arrangements
- Experience in HTS classification and customs brokerage
- Attention to detail, with the ability to predict and mitigate customs-related issues
- English language proficiency (C1) and German language proficiency (B2) required
- IT skills in MS Office, ERP/WMS systems, and ATLAS
- Customs Broker's License and experience in export control and compliance are highly desirable
