About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Category Insights Analyst to join our team at Lotus Bakeries. As a Category Insights Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing market and macro-environment data to inform our category management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze category/core range performance by utilizing available market and macro-environment data, including retail panel data, household/shopper panel data, customer insights, and bespoke consumer/shopper research.
- Track and evaluate Lotus performance vs. competitors, identifying key learnings to inform our internal plans.
- Identify current and future category segment dynamics and trends that may impact Lotus Biscoff and our Natural Foods brands, and quantify potential impacts on our categories, customers, and brands.
- Develop and maintain a best-in-class approach to data analytics, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and collaborating with the Category Development Manager.
- Create and present compelling category stories to our retailers to drive in-store presence for our Lotus and Natural Foods brands.
- Establish and build long-term relationships with relevant German trade partners to strengthen our position as a preferred supplier and provide category insights, recommendations on shelf structure, assortment, new listings, and promotional support.
- Share analytical insights with internal stakeholders to support the development of the Commercial (Account) Plan with the Sales team.
Requirements
- University degree in economics, marketing, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Category Management/data analysis or similar function for food/FMCG brands, with a GS1 Category Management certificate preferred.
- Knowledge of the German trade landscape.
- Proven experience in converting large amounts of raw data into actionable insights with proven commercial benefits, particularly in retail/household/shopper data.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Profound conceptual skills to turn insight into compelling trade and category stories.
- Fluent in German (full professional proficiency) and strong understanding of English (written and spoken).
