Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at Universität Hamburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in machine learning and geophysics, with a focus on developing and applying machine learning algorithms to geophysical problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in machine learning and geophysics, with a focus on developing and applying machine learning algorithms to geophysical problems.
- Collaborate with faculty members and other researchers to design and implement research projects.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications in geophysics.
- Supervise students on bachelor and master level in machine learning and geophysics.
- Teach courses in machine learning and geophysics, including four academic teaching hours per week during teaching periods.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as geophysics, computer science, or mathematics.
- Strong background in machine learning and geophysics, with a focus on developing and applying machine learning algorithms to geophysical problems.
- Excellent programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning libraries.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) and good communication skills.
