Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at Universität Hamburg. As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for conducting research and development of high-performance numerical algorithms for fluid flow simulation methods.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be part of the TRR 181 project, focusing on reducing spurious mixing and energetic inconsistencies in realistic ocean modeling applications. You will work closely with our team to develop and analyze numerical algorithms, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the advancement of our research.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development of high-performance numerical algorithms for fluid flow simulation methods
  • Collaborate with colleagues to advance our research and achieve project goals
  • Develop and analyze numerical algorithms to improve the accuracy and efficiency of fluid flow simulations
  • Contribute to the development of new research ideas and proposals

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in a relevant field, such as mathematics, physics, or computer science
  • A strong background in numerical approximation and fluid dynamics
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, or Fortran
  • Experience with high-performance computing and parallel processing
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
