The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving new business growth and expanding our presence within the pharmaceutical industry.
Your Responsibilities
- New Business Acquisition: Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances to ensure future growth and competitiveness within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential new products, clients, and partnerships, focusing on value, profitability, and risk for sustainable growth.
- Partner Engagement: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key industry stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers. Represent SciPro at industry events to generate leads and build brand awareness.
- Negotiations and Deal Structuring: Prepare compelling proposals, term sheets, and negotiate contracts and agreements in collaboration with program management and legal teams to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Business Case Development: Lead the creation of persuasive business proposals, presentations, and market-based forecasts to support data-driven decision-making for new ventures.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough evaluations of the competitive landscape, including the impact of emerging technologies or competitors, and provide insights to inform target values for business cases.
- Reporting and Insights: Provide senior management with regular updates on market trends, business development progress, and emerging opportunities to guide strategic direction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams across various departments to leverage expertise, build strong relationships, and deliver exceptional value throughout the organization.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's, MBA, or Ph.D. in Business, Science, Pharmacy, or a related field, demonstrating your academic foundation for success in this role.
- Minimum 8 years of proven success in Business Development within the pharmaceutical or CDMO industry, with deep knowledge of pricing, drug discovery, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, coupled with the ability to make informed, impactful decisions that drive business growth.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to articulate business development strategies effectively and persuasively.
- A keen ability to analyze market data, evaluate competitive landscapes, and leverage insights to inform data-driven decisions.
- Fluency in English is essential for this role.
