Job Title: Medical Director - Cluster Lead

About the Role:

Ferring Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly experienced Medical Director to lead our Cluster Medical Affairs Team in Germany. As a key member of our global Medical Affairs organization, you will be responsible for providing medical and scientific leadership to support the development and execution of our cluster and country strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Provide medical and scientific leadership to the Cluster Medical Affairs Team, driving the development and execution of cluster and country strategies in line with Ferring's global Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Medical Operations: Oversee the execution of medical operations in the cluster, including the management of local medical teams and the provision of hands-on support as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement strategic and operational plans in the cluster and country, ensuring alignment with Ferring's global Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Resource Allocation and Budget Control: Oversee resource allocation and budget control for the Medical Affairs Department in the cluster, ensuring compliance with Ferring's financial policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure compliance with GCP, SOPs, guidelines, and regulatory requirements within the countries/cluster.
  • Data Generation and Analysis: Provide medical and scientific input, oversight, and execution of data generation activities in the cluster.
  • Representation and Communication: Represent the cluster internally and provide cluster/country input to Regional Medical Affairs Western Europe & Canada.

Requirements:

  • Education: University Medical or Scientific degree, Higher life science qualification (PhD, PharmD) optional, and ideally Business degree (MBA).
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry or Biotechnology Companies, with significant experience in Medical Affairs, including design and oversight of clinical studies.
  • Leadership and Management: At least 5 years of management or leadership experience, with a strong track record of achieving business objectives.
  • Language and Communication: Fluent in written and spoken German and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skills and Qualities: Goal- and result-oriented thinking and acting, strong analytical/conceptual thinking skills, and familiarity with industry-standard tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Therapeutic Area Experience: Preferably experience in the Fertility therapy area, Gastroenterology, and/or Urology.
