Compliance Audit Lead, Transportation and Risk Management

Become a vital part of our Logistics Compliance division, collaborating with Amazon's global Transportation & Logistics executives to recognize and alleviate risks in a swiftly evolving and intricate international landscape. We seek professionals who can leverage their expertise in operations and internal governance to address a wide array of risk domains, including compliance, processes, technology, legal matters, finance, and program oversight.
Your Role
In this position, you will spearhead a team dedicated to closely engaging with Amazon's logistics and transportation sectors to comprehend their specific risk environments. You will also work alongside various legal, finance, and compliance departments to enhance compliance initiatives, which will encompass the development and execution of risk evaluations, governance frameworks, and policy assessments.
- Collaborate with transportation divisions and other business stakeholders to pinpoint and evaluate regulatory and compliance risks concerning our third-party carriers.
- Examine both new and existing third-party carriers to ensure adherence to compliance, safety, and service standards, while investigating any questionable activities or behaviors that may pose risks to Amazon, our clientele, or others.
- Lead cross-functional evaluations of risks and controls to align with corporate strategy and risk tolerance. Be prepared to assess real situations, sometimes with limited information, to make independent judgments regarding third-party carrier integrity and compliance standards.
- Assist in connecting policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting with the aim of enhancing operations, compliance protocols, and risk management strategies.
- Partner with project teams to establish business requirements and controls within implementation plans.
- Drive initiatives for process enhancement and control implementation projects.
- Be open to travel up to 20% of the time with short notice.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in audit, risk management, and/or compliance, preferably within the operations, transportation, or logistics sectors.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
- Ability to analyze data from diverse sources to identify potential risk indicators and collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct root cause analyses. Proficiency in advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting of escalation metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the transportation or supply chain industry, ideally in a comparable role within a high-volume logistics context.
- Background in risk mitigation, fraud prevention, compliance functions, internal controls, legal matters, HR compliance, labor employment, or transportation/supply chain experience.
- Experience in project management, case management, or process improvement.
- Relevant certifications such as CIA, CFE, CISA, CPA, or similar credentials in risk, audit, or compliance.
- Able to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across various organizations.
