About the Role

In the capacity of a Global Key Account Manager, you will spearhead, cultivate, secure, and sustain business relationships with strategic automotive clients, aiming to meet Key Sales KPIs and Account Plan objectives.

Your pivotal role will involve crafting, executing, and propelling the key accounts strategy for significant divisional customers within the organization and across DS Smith.

Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively oversee the account to retain existing business and prevent sales erosion;
  • Secure tenders for existing business, formulate and align tender strategies, collaborating with stakeholders in sales, finance, marketing, ventures, legal, and more;
  • Acquire new business in untapped segments and develop innovative value-added offerings within the key customers of the CBU and their respective segments;
  • Implement new acquisitions - nurture the account, deliver inventive solutions and models to integrate DS Smith within the account and ensure sustainable growth;
  • Manage the Division Key Account Plan and the profitability of the key accounts;
  • Be accountable for customer satisfaction, loyalty, and enhancing the customer experience, identifying opportunities within customers' supply chains to boost efficiency and reduce costs through innovative solutions.

About You

  • Possess a degree or equivalent experience;
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen, commercial experience, and a proven track record in driving and managing sales growth, alongside successful development and execution of account strategies at a divisional level;
  • Capable of navigating a complex global matrix environment;
  • Proven ability to comprehend, analyze, and initiate actions based on robust financial insights and understanding;
  • A resilient, entrepreneurial, and persuasive change agent with effective communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken German and English; proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous;
  • Previous experience in the packaging sector is preferred but not mandatory.

Location: Remote, based in Germany; approximately 40% travel required
