About the Role

In the position of Global Key Account Manager, you will spearhead, cultivate, secure, and sustain business relationships with strategic automotive clients, meeting Key Sales KPIs and Account Plan objectives.

Your role will be pivotal in formulating, executing, and advancing the key accounts strategy for essential divisional customers within the organization and across DS Smith.

Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Actively manage the account to retain existing business and prevent sales erosion;
  • Secure tenders for existing business, devise and align tender strategies, collaborating with stakeholders in sales, finance, marketing, ventures, legal, and more;
  • Acquire new business in untapped segments and create innovative value-added offerings for key customers within the CBU's segments;
  • Implement new wins - nurture the account, provide inventive solutions and models to integrate DS Smith into the account, ensuring long-term growth;
  • Oversee the Division Key Account Plan and the profitability of key accounts;
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction, loyalty, and enhancing the customer experience, identifying opportunities within customers' supply chains to boost efficiency and reduce costs through innovative solutions.

About You

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience);
  • Strong business insight, commercial experience, and proven success in driving and managing sales growth, along with effective development and execution of account strategies at a divisional level;
  • Capability to navigate a complex global matrix environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend, analyze, and initiate actions based on robust financial insights and understanding;
  • A resilient, entrepreneurial, and persuasive change agent with effective communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills;
  • Proficient in written and spoken German and English; additional European languages are a plus;
  • Previous experience in the packaging sector is preferred but not mandatory.

Location: Remote, based in Germany; approximately 40% travel required
