Finance in Motion is a global impact asset manager dedicated to sustainable development in low and middle-income countries. The organization develops and advises impact investment funds that integrate public and private investors to tackle climate change, enhance biodiversity conservation, promote sustainable resource use, improve livelihoods, and create economic opportunities.

Throughout its operations, Finance in Motion has mobilized over EUR 5.4 billion towards these objectives across Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to investment activities, the funds also offer technical assistance to support investees, encourage responsible finance, and maximize impact in the regions served.

Senior Officer Finance (m/f/d)

The department collaborates closely with top management, Human Resources, the Legal department, the Fund Planning department, and heads of individual profit centers. Our responsibilities encompass accounting, payments, budgeting, planning, regulatory reporting, and the legal/tax framework of local offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations for specific legal entities
  • Execute quarterly and annual financial closing processes
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow planning and liquidity reporting
  • Compile consolidated financial statements
  • Contribute to tax compliance and ensure proper controls and documentation
  • Optimize processes and support projects (project experience preferred)
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors, accountants, and auditors
  • Assist the controlling function
  • Represent the Finance Manager during absences

What we expect:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Extensive experience in accounting (German GAAP), financial reporting, preferably within the financial sector or audit firms (Big4 experience is advantageous)
  • Knowledge of German taxation (VAT, Income Tax)
  • Familiarity with financial regulations (BaFin) is preferred
  • Experience with DATEV is a plus
  • Proactive approach as a generalist in a department with diverse responsibilities
