Overview

Finance in Motion is a globally recognized impact asset management firm dedicated to fostering sustainable development in emerging economies. The organization specializes in creating and advising impact investment funds that integrate public and private capital to tackle pressing issues such as climate change, enhance biodiversity, promote sustainable resource management, improve living standards, and create economic opportunities.

Since its inception, Finance in Motion has mobilized over EUR 5.4 billion towards these initiatives across Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond investment activities, the funds also extend technical assistance to support investees, encourage responsible finance practices, and amplify impact in the regions served.

Due to our continuous growth and expansion into new areas, we are currently seeking a

Senior Officer Finance (m/f/d)

This role involves close collaboration with senior management, Human Resources, the Legal department, the Fund Planning team, and heads of various profit centers. In addition to managing accounting, payments, budgeting, and planning, the department is also responsible for regulatory reporting and the legal/tax frameworks of local offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations for specific legal entities
  • Execute quarterly and annual financial closing processes
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports
  • Compile consolidated financial statements
  • Ensure tax compliance and maintain proper controls and documentation
  • Drive process improvements and support project initiatives (project experience is preferred)
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors, accountants, and auditors
  • Assist the controlling function
  • Act as a representative for the Finance Manager during absences

What we expect:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Extensive experience in accounting (German GAAP), financial reporting, preferably within the financial sector or a reputable audit firm (Big4 experience is advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of German taxation (VAT, Income Tax)
  • Familiarity with financial regulations (BaFin) is preferred
  • Experience with DATEV is a plus
  • A proactive, hands-on approach as a generalist in a diverse department
