Finance in Motion is a global impact asset manager dedicated to sustainable development in low and middle-income nations. The organization develops and advises impact investment funds that utilize blended finance structures to unite public and private investors in addressing climate change, enhancing biodiversity conservation, promoting sustainable resource use, improving livelihoods, and creating economic opportunities.

Throughout its operations, Finance in Motion has mobilized a total exceeding EUR 5.4 billion towards these objectives across Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond investment activities, the funds also offer technical assistance to support investees, encourage responsible finance, and maximize impact in the regions served.

Since its inception in 2009, the organization has consistently demonstrated year-on-year growth and has expanded into new regions and areas of focus. In light of this ongoing success, Finance in Motion is in search of a

Senior Officer Finance (m/f/d)

The department collaborates closely with top management, Human Resources, the Legal department, the Fund Planning department, and heads of individual profit centers. In addition to accounting, payments, budgeting, and planning, we are responsible for regulatory reporting obligations and the legal/tax framework of local offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily accounting operations of specific legal entities
  • Execute quarterly and annual financial closing processes
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow planning and liquidity reporting
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements
  • Contribute to tax compliance and ensure proper controls and documentation
  • Optimize processes and support projects (project experience preferred)
  • Collaborate closely with external tax advisors, accountants, and auditors
  • Assist the controlling function
  • Represent the Finance Manager during absences

What we expect:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Proficient knowledge with several years of successful experience in accounting (German GAAP), financial reporting, preferably within the financial sector or audit firms (Big4 experience is preferred)
  • Understanding of German taxation (VAT, Income Tax)
  • Experience with financial regulation (BaFin) is preferred
  • Familiarity with DATEV is advantageous
  • A hands-on approach as a generalist in a department with diverse responsibilities
