Role Overview
As an IT Support Engineer, you will report directly to the IT Manager at your designated site, playing a crucial role in supporting the operations team, who are essential in fulfilling customer orders.

You will collaborate closely with business units, colleagues, and remote support teams to deliver exceptional IT support services. Your contributions will be vital to a diverse team, focused on achieving high-quality outcomes while continuously seeking improvements within our Fulfilment Centres.

Our Fulfilment Centres manage millions of items from numerous vendors, shipping them globally every day.

You will design and maintain infrastructure environments, providing essential insights to ensure that our platforms are built with operability as a priority. Your efforts will ensure the successful advancement of all infrastructure-related tasks. In the dynamic environment at Amazon, you will embrace change and navigate through uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities
You will oversee requests and projects from our operational teams, managing local initiatives from inception through to implementation at both onsite and remote locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in deployment and collaboration with third-party vendors.
  • Proficiency in managing diverse network environments with Microsoft Windows and Linux systems.
  • A track record of learning and applying new technologies.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of networking infrastructure and system integration.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken (B2 level).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to various audiences.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
  • A proactive mindset, always seeking innovation and enhancements.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as ITIL, Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft (MCP, MCSE), or Linux (LPIC-1, LPIC-2) are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with a flair for problem-solving and the ability to work independently in most situations.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and motivating them to achieve complex objectives.
  • Familiarity with Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN/WiFi) is a plus.
  • Experience in IT asset management and procurement.
  • Advanced knowledge of common network and Internet protocols.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel as needed.
