Role Overview: As an IT Support Specialist, you will report to the IT Manager at your designated site and will be responsible for providing direct support to the personnel within the operations division, who are essential in delivering the products purchased by our customers. You will collaborate closely with the business, your colleagues, and remote support teams to deliver exceptional IT support services. You will play a vital role in a diverse team, focusing on achieving high-quality outcomes while consistently seeking improvements within our Fulfilment Centres. These centres manage millions of items from numerous vendors and ship them globally each day. You will design and maintain infrastructure environments, providing critical insights to ensure that the platform is built with operability in mind. Your role will ensure that all infrastructure-related tasks progress smoothly. Embracing change and navigating ambiguity will be essential, as no two days are alike at Amazon.

Key Responsibilities:
You will manage requests and projects from our operational team, overseeing local projects from inception to implementation, including installations at both your site and remote locations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in deployment and collaboration with third-party vendors.
  • Administration experience in diverse network environments, including Microsoft Windows and Linux-based systems.
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of networking infrastructure and system integration.
  • Proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken (B2 level).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to various audiences.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • A curious mindset, always seeking innovation and enhancements.
  • Additional industry certifications such as ITIL, Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft (MCP, MCSE), or Linux (LPIC-1, LPIC-2) are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with a flair for problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and inspiring them to accomplish complex tasks.
  • Familiarity with Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN/WiFi) is a plus.
  • Experience in IT asset management and procurement.
  • Advanced knowledge of common network and Internet protocols.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel as needed.
