Your Future Role

In our Mannheim facility, a diverse team of over 1000 individuals from 36 different nations collaborates to innovate locomotives, signal systems, and propulsion technologies for vehicles deployed both regionally and globally. Our product line in Rolling Stock & Components represents the most comprehensive offerings in the rail sector. We focus on pioneering green and intelligent solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen technologies. You will report to the Head of RSC TRAXX Train Control PM and work alongside a passionate and skilled team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and orchestrate sub-system activities and stakeholder engagement from requirement gathering and analysis through to the fulfillment of project contractual obligations specific to the sub-system scope.
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholders, activities, and deliverables at the sub-system level, facilitating necessary arbitration (engineering, product vs. process, Make or Buy decisions, costs, milestones, interfaces, etc.) to achieve QCDP (Quality Cost Delivery Planning) commitments.
  • Coordinate and harmonize sub-system activities with other sub-systems and project teams to ensure seamless integration and operational functionality.
  • Leverage technical project management expertise to navigate relevant phases within the V-model lifecycle.
  • Maintain an understanding of processes related to project and product development, including familiarity with safety regulations and certifications in the railway or other regulated industries.
  • Utilize functional and system/software engineering knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

Candidate Profile

We prioritize enthusiasm and a positive attitude over extensive experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill listed, the following qualifications will contribute to your success and growth in this position:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with functional and system/software engineering principles.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical project management within the V-model lifecycle.
  • Understanding of project and product development processes, particularly in safety-sensitive industries.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to hold team members accountable.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively as a team player with a focus on customer satisfaction.
