Your Future Role:
In Mannheim, a diverse team of over 1000 professionals from 36 countries collaborates to innovate locomotives and propulsion technologies for vehicles utilized both regionally and globally. Our product line in Rolling Stock & Components encompasses the most comprehensive offerings in the rail industry. We focus on pioneering green and intelligent solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems like batteries and hydrogen technologies. You will report to Dirk Bertsch and collaborate with a passionate and skilled team.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Powertrain Subsystem Manager is accountable for overseeing and successfully executing cross-functional activities that lead to the delivery of a project sub-system, meeting both customer expectations and established QCDP objectives.
- Manage sub-system level stakeholders, activities, and deliverables across various functions, making necessary decisions to ensure adherence to QCDP commitments.
- Coordinate efforts related to Powertrain systems with other project stakeholders, including integration teams and other sub-systems.
- Contribute to the successful execution of projects within the allocated sub-system scope.
- Lead and manage sub-system activities and stakeholders from requirement capture and analysis through to the fulfillment of project contractual obligations.
- Synchronize sub-system activities with other project teams and sub-systems to ensure seamless integration.
Qualifications:
- We prioritize enthusiasm and attitude over extensive experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, the following qualifications will support your success in this role:
- Relevant academic credentials, such as a Master of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic, Railway Systems).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, particularly in rolling stock development.
- Familiarity with systems engineering, concept design, architecture, requirement management, functional analysis, testing, and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software interactions within complex system architectures.
- Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations pertaining to rolling stock.
- An open-minded, entrepreneurial spirit with strong problem-solving skills and a sense of urgency.
- Proven leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate teams.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills, characterized by clarity, rigor, and conciseness.
- Proficiency in English and German, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multinational and distributed engineering team.
