Research Opportunity in Plant Cell Biology at Technical University of Munich

A Ph.D. candidate or Postdoctoral researcher position is available within the Plant Systems Biology Department at the School of Life Sciences, Technical University of Munich. The focus of Dr. Philipp Denninger's research group is on the evolutionary dynamics of plant cell biology, with a particular emphasis on RhoGTPase signaling pathways across various plant taxa as part of the 'MAdLand' DFG Priority Programme.

Research Responsibilities:

  • Investigate the evolutionary trajectory of RhoGTPase signaling in Streptophyte algae, Liverworts, and Mosses.
  • Examine the evolutionary adaptations of plant RhoGTPase activators during terrestrial transition.
  • Employ bioinformatics, biochemistry, and cellular biology techniques, with a strong emphasis on live cell imaging.

Candidate Profile:

  • Enthusiasm for exploring plant evolution and cellular mechanisms.
  • Educational background in bioinformatics, biochemistry, or confocal microscopy.
  • M.Sc. (or equivalent) is required for the Ph.D. position; a Ph.D. is necessary for the Postdoctoral role.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
