Research Opportunity in Plant Cell Biology at Technical University of Munich

An exciting opportunity is available for a Ph.D. candidate or Postdoctoral researcher within the Plant Systems Biology Department at the School of Life Sciences, Technical University of Munich. This position is part of Dr. Philipp Denninger's research group, which is dedicated to exploring evolutionary dynamics in plant cell biology, with a specific emphasis on RhoGTPase signaling pathways across various plant taxa in the context of the 'MAdLand' DFG Priority Programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate the evolutionary trajectory of RhoGTPase signaling in Streptophyte algae, Liverworts, and Mosses.
  • Examine the evolutionary adaptations of plant RhoGTPase activators during terrestrial colonization.
  • Employ bioinformatics, biochemistry, and cell biology methodologies, particularly focusing on live cell imaging techniques.
Candidate Profile:
  • Strong enthusiasm for research in plant evolution and cellular mechanisms.
  • Educational background in bioinformatics, biochemistry, or advanced microscopy techniques.
  • Master's degree (or equivalent) required for Ph.D. candidates; a Ph.D. is necessary for Postdoctoral roles.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
