Strategic Sourcing Manager

The Challenge

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Strategic Sourcing Manager. This role will focus on implementing and executing strategies for Direct Spend within the assigned category, ensuring compliance with corporate requirements and achieving key performance indicators. The position may involve occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and leverage market opportunities to optimize value
  • Engage in spot markets to enhance procurement strategies
  • Develop and validate global sourcing strategies for assigned categories
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain risks
  • Manage price risk exposure effectively
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and trading partners
  • Provide analysis and insights to support future procurement decisions
  • Collaborate with management to capitalize on commodity opportunities
  • Monitor market developments and communicate relevant intelligence
  • Oversee contract implementation and compliance with regional managers
  • Evaluate supplier performance and take corrective actions as needed
  • Participate in supplier audits to ensure quality and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business; Master's degree preferred
  • Several years of experience in supply chain and procurement within a global context
  • Experience in chemical commodity purchasing or trading is advantageous
  • B2B experience is a strong plus
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in reporting tools and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Fluent in English, with a strong preference for candidates who can present their qualifications in English
