Position Overview:
As a Senior Application Scientist, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and growth within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to sustainable business expansion by identifying emerging product and application needs within the industry, thereby shaping new developmental pathways.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and technological advancements in the field, proactively initiating discussions and proposing project ideas.
- Lead and support extensive, potentially cross-functional application development projects, particularly in battery applications.
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to the global Customer Service Organization (CSO) team.
- Deliver product and application training to customers, agents, distributors, and internal teams as required.
- Collaborate closely with your direct Technology & Sustainability team and engage with colleagues across various functions within the organization.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including technical notes, and document significant findings for patent applications and publications.
Qualifications:
- A master's degree or preferably a PhD in a relevant technical discipline, such as Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or Chemistry.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in polymer synthesis or application development, particularly in battery or adhesive applications.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the battery sector.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property (IP) and IP strategy.
- Demonstrated personal initiative along with the ability to conduct technology and business analysis.
- Excellent team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills, capable of leading and facilitating cross-functional projects.
- Ability to manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including upper management, at a strategic level while balancing conflicting interests.
- Proactive in proposing projects and programs, defining their scope and managing uncertainties and expectations.
- A results-oriented mindset with a strong external focus.
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to present effectively both internally and externally.
