Cinema for Peace Foundation Berlin is a leading organization dedicated to promoting peace, human rights, and social justice through film. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated volunteer to join our team in Berlin.

Job Description

We are looking for a volunteer to support our team in various areas, including film screenings, fundraising, communications, campaigns, film selection, artists and gallery relations, event management, and special projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for film, human rights, and international relations, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Support film screenings and panel discussions, including liaising with partners, panelists, venues, and film distributors.
  • Assist with fundraising initiatives, including supporting funding organizations, high-level fundraiser events, auctions, membership programs, and artists and gallery relations.
  • Support the Cinema for Peace Communications Strategy, including drafting, posting, and reporting on social media posts across social media platforms.
  • Contribute to the conception and execution of Cinema for Peace Campaigns for human rights, democracy, and peace in the world using the medium of film.
  • Support the selection and curation of films for Cinema for Peace screenings, film festivals, and for the Cinema for Peace awards.
  • Liaise with artists, galleries, and art collectors to acquire donations of artworks and experiences for fundraising and public relations purposes.
  • Organize high-level advocacy events across the globe, specifically in Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles.
  • Support the management of Cinema for Peace special projects.
  • Assist in general administration, management of mailing and guest lists, desk research, news and conflict monitoring, and any other task needed from the team.
Requirements
  • Education in Film, Human Rights, International Relations, International Law, Project Management, or related fields.
  • Passion and interest for topics related to film, art, international conflicts, human rights, climate change, and other socio-political and humanitarian issues.
  • Prior basic experience working in an international organization, non-governmental organization, civil society organization, or film-related organization.
  • Excellent written and spoken fluency in English is required. Other languages, particularly German, is an advantage.
  • Proactive, ability to think outside the box, willing to go the extra mile, and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Lives in Berlin.
What We Offer

We offer a full-time volunteer position, Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 18:00. The remuneration for this position is 520 euros + BVG ticket reimbursement.
