We are currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance our Cloud Engineering division.

Your Team: Cloud Engineering

The Cloud Engineering team forms the backbone of our technology department. This team is tasked with managing the essential infrastructure that enables our developers to deploy their applications effectively and supports the growth of our business.

Utilizing a variety of AWS services, Kubernetes, and open-source projects from the Apache foundation, the team consistently evaluates new cloud and architectural services to efficiently manage vast amounts of data. Cloud Engineering is responsible for determining the optimal balance between self-managed and managed services to minimize hosting expenses while ensuring convenience and data security for our developers.

To maintain high service quality and minimize downtime, the Cloud Engineering team invests significantly in monitoring and alerting technologies, providing insights into system health, including networking, application logs, cloud service metrics, and hardware performance. The engineers also offer practical solutions, knowledge sharing, and documentation to empower the entire developer community within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team of seasoned DevOps engineers to transform our cloud infrastructure by integrating new technologies and refining existing systems.
  • Assist in transitioning our current managed AWS cloud setup to self-hosted and open-source solutions, aiming for an optimal mix of managed and self-hosted services for cost-effectiveness.
  • Support developers in constructing a high-performance backend using Go, based on our existing backend frameworks distributed across multiple global data centers.
  • Engage with experts from diverse technological backgrounds, learn from experienced colleagues, and share your expertise.
  • Work with our current technology stack, including Go, DruidDB, Kafka, DynamoDB, ScyllaDB, RDS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitLab, ECS, EMR, Lambda, complex CI/CD pipelines, Prometheus, and data pipelines.
  • Introduce new technologies, including migrating parts of the architecture to our new Kubernetes and Kafka clusters, and implementing Apache Spark/Flink along with our own hosted object storage.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, promoting their professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a DevOps engineer, SRE, or Platform engineer with a strong focus on enhancing scalability and cloud infrastructure, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Rust, or Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and ECS.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the AWS ecosystem and infrastructure as code practices using Terraform.
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture and communication protocols between microservices (e.g., Topics, Queues, Object storage).
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools and the development and maintenance of pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Self-driven and enthusiastic about learning new technologies and tools.
  • Willingness to relocate.
