About the Cloud Engineering Team
The Cloud Engineering team serves as the backbone of our technology department, ensuring that our developers have the necessary infrastructure to deploy their applications effectively and support the growth of our organization.
Utilizing a variety of cloud services, including AWS, Kubernetes, and open-source projects, the team is dedicated to exploring new cloud solutions and architectures to manage extensive data efficiently. Our focus is on balancing self-managed and managed services to optimize costs while maintaining convenience and security for our developers.
To guarantee high service quality and minimal downtime, our Cloud Engineering team invests in advanced monitoring and alerting systems to gain insights into the health of our infrastructure. They also provide essential solutions, knowledge, and documentation to empower our developer community, enabling them to manage the infrastructure independently and ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with a team of seasoned DevOps engineers to innovate and enhance our cloud infrastructure through the adoption of new technologies.
- Assist in transitioning our current managed AWS cloud setup to a hybrid model that incorporates self-hosted and open-source technologies for optimal cost-efficiency.
- Support developers in creating a high-performance backend utilizing Go, based on our existing backend architecture distributed across multiple global data centers.
- Engage with experts from diverse technological backgrounds, sharing knowledge and learning from experienced colleagues.
- Work with our current technology stack, including Go, DruidDB, Kafka, DynamoDB, ScyllaDB, RDS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Gitlab, ECS, EMR, Lambda, and complex CI/CD pipelines.
- Introduce new technologies, including migrating parts of our architecture to Kubernetes and Kafka clusters, as well as implementing Apache Spark/Flink and our own object storage solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, supporting their professional development.
- Proven experience as a DevOps engineer, SRE, or Platform engineer with a strong focus on enhancing scalability and cloud infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and ECS.
- Comprehensive understanding of the AWS ecosystem and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Familiarity with microservice architecture and inter-service communication methods.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools and experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
