Regional Maintenance and Engineering Operations Manager

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance and Engineering Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. In this pivotal leadership position, you will oversee a team of Maintenance Area Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure the reliability and functionality of our systems and equipment across various locations in our transportation network.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of managers, maintenance technicians, and engineers to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of all systems and equipment.
- Develop and manage the maintenance strategy for all equipment, including the creation of preventative maintenance schedules.
- Identify and resolve equipment failures, implementing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize performance.
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring resources are utilized effectively to achieve operational and financial objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Regularly communicate with senior management and stakeholders to provide updates on performance, maintenance activities, and improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new systems, providing insights on reliability and maintainability requirements.
- Lead regional initiatives, working with other teams to identify and share best practices.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience managing maintenance or technical teams in an industrial setting.
- Proven expertise in reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and lead a high-performing team.
- Capacity to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in both German and English (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or an MBA from a recognized institution.
- Experience in a leadership role within a high-volume production environment.
- Proven track record in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment focused on customer satisfaction.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Familiarity with robotics and automation systems.
- Experience managing maintenance operations across multiple locations.
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
