In this senior leadership position, you will be responsible for managing a team of RME Area Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure the reliability and maintainability of our equipment and systems across multiple sites in our German transportation network.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of managers, maintenance technicians, and engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and systems.
- Manage the maintenance program for all equipment and systems, including creating preventative maintenance plans and schedules.
- Identify and address equipment and system failures and develop root cause analysis plans to prevent future failures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment and system reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize equipment performance.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources to meet operational and financial goals.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Communicate regularly with regional leaders, senior management, and stakeholders to provide updates on equipment and system performance, maintenance activities, and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new equipment and systems, providing input on reliability and maintainability requirements.
- Lead regional programs and initiatives, collaborating with other sites and teams across the region to identify and share best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Several years of experience managing a maintenance, service, or technical team in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with reliability-centered maintenance practices and techniques.
- Experience with maintenance management software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior-level management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Fluent in German and English (verbal and written).
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field or MBA from a top-tier business school.
- Experience in a leadership role in a high-volume production environment.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on meeting customer needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with robotics and automation systems.
- Experience managing maintenance operations across multiple sites.
- Knowledge of German labor laws and regulations.
