Regional Maintenance and Engineering Reliability Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Manager to oversee our operations at Amazon EU SARL (Germany Branch) - D70.

Role Responsibilities:
In this pivotal leadership position, you will be tasked with managing a team of RME Area Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to guarantee the reliability and maintainability of our equipment and systems across various sites within our German transportation network.

Key Duties Include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of managers, maintenance technicians, and engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and systems.
  • Overseeing the maintenance program for all equipment and systems, which includes developing preventative maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Identifying and resolving equipment and system failures while creating root cause analysis plans to avert future issues.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance equipment and system reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize performance.
  • Managing the departmental budget effectively to ensure the efficient allocation of resources in line with operational and financial objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Regularly communicating with regional leaders, senior management, and stakeholders to provide updates on performance, maintenance activities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of new equipment and systems, contributing insights on reliability and maintainability requirements.
  • Leading regional programs and initiatives, working with other sites and teams to identify and share best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience managing maintenance, service, or technical teams in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience with reliability-centered maintenance practices and techniques.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with senior-level management.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, utilizing data to inform decisions.
  • Fluency in German and English (both verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field, or an MBA from a prestigious business school.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a high-volume production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment focused on meeting customer needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with robotics and automation systems.
  • Experience managing maintenance operations across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of German labor laws and regulations.
