We are seeking a highly skilled Crypto Market Data Engineer to join our team at Blocksize Capital GmbH. As a key member of our market data team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions for processing and analyzing real-time and historical crypto market data.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain Market Data Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient market data infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support the operation of Blockchain nodes and connect DEX and CEX data.
- Lead Software Engineers: Lead a team of 2-4 software engineers in the market data team, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Own Backend-Infrastructure: Take ownership of the backend-infrastructure, including data ingestion and external APIs, to ensure seamless integration with other systems.
- Create and Maintain Websocket and RPC Endpoints: Design and implement Websocket and RPC endpoints to provide real-time market data to financial institutions and Smart Contracts in the DeFi space.
- Manage Critical Infrastructure: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage critical infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of market data systems.
- 4+ Years of Experience: Minimum 4 years of practical working experience in a fintech company or financial services company in the field of financial market data, preferably crypto price feeds.
- Programming Skills: 4+ years of experience in programming Golang or any other strongly typed programming language.
- Location: Must already live in Europe, in a timezone +/- 3 hours of the CET.
- Interest in Blockchain Technology: Large interest in blockchain technology and/or financial products.
- Data Extraction: Ability to extract data from decentralized exchanges/pools for obtaining market data from there.
- Methodologies for Crypto Price Feeds: Understanding of methodologies for crypto price feeds and strategies defined by quant analysts and ability to implement them in programming code.
- Microservice Architectures: Experience in microservice architectures, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Database Knowledge: Basic understanding of Postgres or MySQL.
- Version Control Systems: Good understanding of Git and Jira workflows.
- Computer Science Fundamentals: Computer science fundamentals and systems design.
- Collaboration and Communication: Hands-on, collaborative, and data-driven mentality, with very good English skills.
- Cloud Platform Experience: Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, gRPC, Terraform, Gitlab CI, and/or Prometheus.
- Complex System Understanding: Ability to quickly make sense of large and complex systems.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills, with ability to join technical meetings with business partners or customers.
