Head of Global Controlling Operations

We invite seasoned finance professionals to consider a pivotal leadership role within our Global Transaction Centre (GTC) in Berlin as the new Head of Global Controlling Operations (m/f/d). This position is integral to our ONEGLOBE initiative, aimed at delivering innovative financial solutions across our global operations.
In your capacity as the Head of Controlling, you will work closely with the Global Controlling team and various functions within the GTC to ensure seamless transactional processes. You will lead a diverse group of controllers, emphasizing operational, planning, and investment controlling aspects.
This is a full-time , unlimited leadership opportunity with KWS Berlin GmbH , a recognized leader in the agricultural industry.
Key Responsibilities: As the Head of Controlling, you will motivate, guide, and empower a diverse team of Associates, Seniors, and Team Coordinators, fostering a collaborative and trustful environment. You will manage staffing, hiring, and onboarding processes to cultivate a high-performing team. You will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at refining controlling practices and reports across regions. A profound understanding of contemporary controlling methodologies, including tools (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, etc.) and systems (SAP CO, R3, and S4 HANA), is essential. You will establish a framework for daily operations, aligning them with corporate strategy while promoting standardization and digitalization. Overseeing the transactional activities related to actuals, budgeting, and forecasting controlling processes will be a key responsibility. This includes managing the closing of cost centers, intercompany charges, investments, functional costs, and plan vs. actual reports. A meticulous approach and proactive identification of inconsistencies in controlling activities are crucial. Effective communication on all matters, both internal and external, is vital. You will also be responsible for enhancing cross-functional collaboration and ensuring efficient information flow between Global Functions, the Global Transaction Center (GTC), and Business Units. Required Qualifications: A degree in controlling, accounting, finance, or a related field. Extensive experience in controlling, particularly within an international context such as a shared service center, along with demonstrated leadership capabilities. In-depth knowledge of controlling processes and practices, including familiarity with best-in-class tools and systems. A solid understanding of financial statements, particularly Profit & Loss statements, is advantageous. Experience in management accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of cost centers, planning, forecasting, and investment planning. Strong people management skills coupled with excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, enabling you to convey complex financial information to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
