Economist - Analysis of Euro Area Trade and Financial Flows

Your Role
As an Economist, your responsibilities will include: Evaluating trends in international commerce, particularly focusing on the euro area and the European Union; Assessing patterns in cross-border financial transactions and understanding their key drivers and implications; Overseeing the economic monitoring and forecasting for an EU member state; Collaborating with various stakeholders, including fellow economists at the ECB, national central banks, and other European or international organizations. This position provides outstanding opportunities to engage in significant macroeconomic analysis pertaining to the euro area. You will join a diverse team dedicated to continuous innovation, aiming to positively influence the lives of European citizens.Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Essential: A master's degree or equivalent in economics, finance, or a related discipline; A minimum of four years of professional experience at the Economist level in international economic analysis; Experience working at a central bank or an international institution; Proficiency in analyzing international trade dynamics, particularly concerning the euro area or the EU; Comprehensive knowledge of cross-border financial transactions, including a solid understanding of EU-specific matters, such as the Single Market; Familiarity with and experience in analyzing exchange rates; Ability to effectively convey technical information, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of stakeholders; Advanced (C1) proficiency in English and intermediate (B1) proficiency in at least one other official EU language. Desired: A PhD or publications in a field relevant to the Division's work. You will work collaboratively with others, pursuing team objectives and learning from diverse perspectives. You will communicate any need for change clearly, proposing alternative solutions. You will analyze complex information effectively, evaluating various viewpoints to reach conclusions. You will understand and anticipate stakeholder needs. You are driven to contribute to the ECB's mission of serving EU citizens as part of a public institution and to collaborate with colleagues from across Europe. You are eager to be part of our team and to develop and apply your skills and competencies to fulfill the objectives of this position.Working Modalities
