Economic Policy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team at the European Central Bank. As a Senior Economist, you will play a key role in contributing to the development of economic policy and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth analysis of economic and fiscal policy issues, including budgetary developments in euro area countries and EU Member States.
- Develop and maintain statistical and econometric models to support analytical and forecasting purposes.
- Communicate complex economic concepts and policy recommendations to senior management, the Executive Board, and the General Council.
- Establish and maintain relationships with counterparts within and outside the euro area, including EU national central banks, the European Commission, and the International Monetary Fund.
- A master's degree or equivalent in economics or a related field.
- A minimum of seven years' professional experience at the level of an economist in preparing policy-related analytical material.
- In-depth knowledge of fiscal policy, the EU policy framework, and the Stability and Growth Pact.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical and econometric techniques used for analytical purposes.
- An advanced command of English and an intermediate command of at least one other official language of the EU.
- A PhD and/or a publication record in the analysis of fiscal policy using macroeconomic models.
- Proficiency in quantitative methods and programming languages.
