Sustainability Specialist in Supply Chain Management

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Specialist to join our Procurement & Supplier Quality department at Mercedes-Benz AG. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products and services are procured with social and environmentally friendly aspects in mind.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in raw materials supply chains
  • Work independently on defined projects, conducting risk analyses, implementing measures, and monitoring impact
  • Implement regulatory requirements from LkSG, CSDDD, BatVO, and other relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate in cross-company and cross-industry sustainability initiatives, such as IRMA, Drive Sustainability, and RMI
  • Evaluate suppliers and implement procurement requirements in the supply chain
  • Prepare management presentations and training documents
  • Conduct research activities
  • Communicate and coordinate issues with other areas in the Group

Requirements
  • Degree course in the field of sustainability management, social sciences, economics, environmental & natural sciences, geosciences
  • Proficient in written and spoken German and English
  • Confident handling of MS Office
  • Commitment
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
