Department and Role Overview

Objective:
As the Sales Director for Scale Markets, you will be pivotal in enhancing revenue streams, increasing market penetration, and cultivating robust client relationships within the European sector. Your strategic vision will be essential in meeting sales objectives, nurturing a high-performing sales force, and driving the overall success and profitability of our organization.

Key Outcomes:
• Revenue Enhancement:
o Formulate and implement long-term strategic business initiatives for scale markets and key accounts to boost net revenues and profitability, ensuring brand positioning and assortment strategies yield profitable growth. These plans will encompass segmentation strategies, operational enhancements, and marketing initiatives.

Market Penetration:
o Discover and leverage new business avenues to amplify the company's footprint in the apparel sector across scale markets and enhance brand market share.

Team Development:
o Recruit, mentor, and lead a dynamic sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement.

Client Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders to implement joint business strategies.
o Conduct regular business review meetings with strategic accounts to assess performance, progress, and adjust strategies as needed.

Market Insights:
o Remain informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to guide strategic decisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Development:

Craft and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company’s overarching goals. Identify significant market segments, customer demographics, and growth opportunities. Establish reliable forecasting processes, including regular operational reviews and annual/quarterly forecasting for online accounts. Collaborate with the planning team to support product investment forecasting by providing clear strategic insights and growth opportunities.

Revenue Generation:

Set ambitious sales targets, monitor outcomes, and implement corrective measures as necessary. Ensure accurate forecasting through established processes, including weekly reviews and annual/quarterly assessments.

Market Expansion:

Identify and assess potential business opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels to broaden market reach in line with brand strategies. Conduct market research to stay attuned to consumer preferences and industry trends.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team. Promote a culture of diversity, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and support to team members, facilitating their professional growth.

Client Relationship Management:

Develop and sustain strong relationships with key partners. Ensure compliance with Levi's Retail Network and Terms & Conditions.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management, utilizing data-driven insights to identify improvement areas.

Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandise, planning, marketing, product development, and supply chain, to ensure a cohesive approach to business growth.

Candidate Qualifications:

You should possess:

A degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in sales leadership roles within the apparel sector in Europe. Over 10 years of experience in wholesale, particularly in key European markets. A proven track record of managing significant accounts and cultivating top-level relationships. Experience in effectively growing a business and managing P&L responsibilities. Leadership experience overseeing large teams across different regions.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

In-depth understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and industry trends. Proven ability to devise and implement successful sales strategies. Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities. Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Fluency in English and German, both spoken and written.

Decision-Making and Problem-Solving:

Adept at making informed decisions with a strategic approach, supported by a solid decision-making history. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to negotiate at the highest levels, both internally and externally.
