Food regulations are essential for ensuring that innovative products reach the market safely. However, navigating these regulations can be complex and challenging.

Role Overview: Food Compliance Consultant (German-speaking Markets)

We collaborate closely with our clients to develop practical solutions tailored to their specific needs, helping them navigate the intricate landscape of product information compliance, enabling them to launch, expand, and safeguard their brands.

Expertise at Your Service: Our team consists of food technologists and regulatory experts with a diverse background in manufacturing, retail, enforcement, and commercial experience. Our clients depend on our comprehensive understanding of product and labeling compliance.

Collaborative Approach: Clients work with us as partners to build successful brands. We assist them in interpreting and applying legal guidelines, allowing for the swift and efficient launch of innovative products.

Requirements

The Role: In this position, you will review product information against regulations and customer policies, advising clients and their suppliers on compliance. You will leverage your knowledge and experience to ask insightful questions and ensure due diligence. You will be accountable for delivering quality, accurate, and timely risk-based advice, enabling clients to launch products safely and competitively.

This role is crucial for delivering our services. You will be part of our Advisory Services Team, composed of industry and regulatory professionals with expertise in food and non-food sectors, both domestically and internationally. You will report to a Team Lead responsible for service delivery to one or more clients.

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to perform at least two of the following services:
    • Formulation review
    • Regulatory adaptations
    • Specification/pack copy review
    • Artwork review
    • Alignment check (PLV/PAC/CTS/RSR)
    • Branded product
  • Managing project work effectively.
  • Commercial awareness regarding income generation and workload impact.
  • Maintaining and enhancing technical expertise related to policies and systems.
Qualifications

Essential Knowledge:

  • Degree-level qualifications in food or regulatory subjects, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • In-depth regulatory and/or technical knowledge in your area of responsibility, including codes of practice and guidance.
  • Understanding of legal requirements, challenges, and consumer trends related to product information.
  • Awareness of changes in the regulatory environment due to new legislation and guidance.
  • Confidence in sharing knowledge with clients and colleagues.

Essential Experience:

  • Practical experience with specification or artwork packages.
  • Minimum of one year in a technical/regulatory role or related field.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Fluency in the language required for the German market/region.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage your workload.
  • Experience in risk-based decision-making.
  • Ability to apply requirements to product information and communicate decisions effectively.
