**About the Nephrogenetics Unit**

The Nephrogenetics unit, led by Prof. Dr. Matias Simons, is a research group focused on advancing the understanding of inherited kidney disorders. Our mission is to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of common kidney disease through cutting-edge research.

**Research Focus**

We are currently investigating lipid metabolism in kidney physiology and pathophysiology using the Drosophila model. Our research aims to uncover the underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms of kidney disease, with a focus on the role of nephrocytes and oenocytes in lipid composition.

**Job Responsibilities**

The successful applicant will lead research projects in lipid cell biology and metabolism, working independently with a strong work ethic. They will also have opportunities to gain mentorship experience, help train junior investigators, and pursue projects related to their interests.

**Requirements**

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a PhD in a relevant area (or nearing completion). Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, as well as proficiency in English language.
